Taylor Swift buys two adult domains to keep them falling into wrong hands
Taylor Swift who is already a owner of enviable legs, seven Grammy’s, twelve Billboard Music Awards, is now a proud owner of two adult domains called TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult.
Taylor Swift has apparently bought these domains before they become public on June 1 so that no one can buy them in future and use them to malign her name.
The Mean and Fearless songstress was recently in headlines for threats from hackers to publish her nude pics.
Her Instagram and Twitter accounts were allegedly hacked in January by a group that may be associated with Islamic State terrorists. The hackers than used her Twitter handle to post tweets, (which have since been deleted) which urged her 51.4 million followers to follow the Twitter account @lizzard and @veriuser who is apparently linked to the infamous hacking group “Lizard Squad.”
She had replied to the hackers in a befitting manner with this tweet :
The move comes after ICANN has decided to make such generic TLDs available to public. Out of the g-TLDs, the adult domain names are to go for sale from June 1 and many tech companies are also joining the bandwagon by buying them in advance so that their company names can be protected from falling into the hands of schemers and cyber criminals. Microsoft has already bought Office.porn and Office.adult
The generic-TLDs cost about $2500 to register
